What You Should Know About Financial Planning

"It's staggering when you see statistics on the number of Americans who haven't adequately prepared for their financial futures."
-Ben Stein

If you are new to financial planning or have questions about it, this website is an excellent place to start. Most financial planning websites are intended for people who already have engaged the services of a financial planner, so you won't find any basic information there. You will find all the help you need here.

At ORRGROUP, we understand that the concept of "financial planning" may be confusing...over the years its definition has gotten blurred by the many different types of advisors who call themselves financial planners. Some have credentials, some don't. Some are trustworthy, some aren't.

Financial planning began in the 1970s. It is a process involving six steps. You can do the steps on your own and produce a financial plan that you use in achieving financial goals throughout your life.

But most people find they need help with their plans. Some have come into an inheritance and are unsure what to do. Others are badly in debt and don't know how to help themselves. The majority are beginning to plan for their retirement (and the sooner they start planning for it the better).

Financial planners who are Certified Financial Planner practitioners (and have earned the CFP designation) have received an extensive education in helping individuals become financially secure. But until now, financial planners have been beyond the means of most people! The thinking was that people with lots of money needed financial planning advice, but not the rest of us. Hence, the cost of engaging a financial planner was prohibitive for most.

I always thought there was something wrong with that picture. Yes, individuals who have large fortunes do need expert help, but so does everyone else. ORRGROUP offers services that are affordable, so put that concern to rest as you read through the rest of these pages...
